Update_06.03.09_1:15PM

As you can see from yesterday's update, there is very promising news from both of Nathan's trauma doctor and pulmonary docuors. They said it will be a long road, but they think with time he should pull through! Yesterday Nathan's oxygen levels were sitting at 94 and was able to take movement. Medical staff has also been able to suction more of the fluid from his lungs! Sonya says that he dad is finally breathing again.

Sonya sent me the following text last night, "Nathan moved a lot yesterday to break up the crud in his lungs and he only dropped once in oxygen levels to 88. Even though it's not a good level, it is much better than what we were dealing with five days ago! Baby steps are good. I thanked God again today for my family and Nathan. I pictured him smiling and saying 'You got it'."

In true Sonya-fashion, she is requesting prayers for a family that they have met at the hospital. Sean Piel is a 32-year-old father/son/brother/friend. The doctors currently think that he is brain dead, but the Piel family feels at peace that they were able to say goodbye to Sean. They continue to pray for Nathan and have been wonderful to the Schusters. They are so happy that Nathan is doing better, even though they are managing their own grief.

Brittany was released yesterday after another xray of her shoulder. She also continued to practice stairs with her physical therapist. She was very excited to be back home and was anxiously awaiting her bed.

Mucho love to the Schusters....especially YOU, Mr. S.
